Rapper Petty Levels dead at 23
Social media influencer and rapper Mia Armaj Bennett, aka Petty Levels, was found dead at age 23.
The world of social media and music is mourning the untimely death of Mia Armaj Bennett, better known as Petty Levels, from Philadelphia.
She rose to fame on social media while in high school and went on sharing short rap videos which culminated in her releasing her own songs. Bennett was among other songs known from Fredo Bang’s “Freak ft. Latto, Petty Levels,” and her own songs “Ain’t It” and “Malibu.”
She had over 1 million followers on her Instagram page and was also a successful OnlyFans model.
Death
The influencer turned rapper from Philadelphia was found dead on July 19, 2024, in Tampa, Florida. It was after someone reported having found a body that officers were called to an area in Northwest Tampa.
Fans were shocked when her record label Chosen One Records posted a picture of Bennett on July 24, 2024, with the caption “We regret to inform you of the passing of our lil sis @pettylevelsofficial 🕊️We ask for prayers and comfort at this time & respect of privacy for the family”.
Reports of the rapper’s death flooded social media with many fans and loved ones expressing their love and condolences for Bennett.
Lots of speculation has ciruclated regarding what happened, but Bennett’s family pleaded: “We don’t even know exactly what happened so if everybody could just please bear with everybody on this subject, I’m begging you, please our family is devastated.”
Cause of death
At the time of the rappers death Philadelphia Inquirer reported that there were “no initial signs to suggest that foul play was a factor”, but since then word has gotten around.
The cause of death was supposedly suicide. It seems Bennett took her life in response to contracting HIV from a man.
