Manohar Aich’s Death – Cause and Date

Manohar Aich, the legendary Indian bodybuilder known as the “Pocket Hercules,” passed away on June 5, 2016, at the age of 104.

Born on March 17, 1912, in Comilla, Bengal Presidency (now in Bangladesh), Aich’s journey to fame began after he joined the Royal Air Force in 1942. His interest in bodybuilding was piqued, and he soon began training seriously. His dedication and hard work paid off when he won the Mr. Hercules title in 1950 and the prestigious Mr. Universe title in 1952.

Standing at just 4 feet 11 inches tall, Aich’s stature earned him the affectionate nickname “Pocket Hercules.” Despite his height, his impressive physique and strength won him numerous awards. Aich continued to be active in the bodybuilding community well into his later years, inspiring countless aspiring bodybuilders.

Aich’s death was a significant loss to the sporting world. He passed away peacefully at his residence in Kolkata, surrounded by his family.
