He is survived by his second wife, Donna, who expressed shock at his sudden demise. Donna recounted that he appeared in good health but suddenly became unresponsive while having dinner and watching TV. He was declared deceased at 7:54 pm.

His estate was valued at over $50 million when he died. Since Dean passed away without drafting a Will, his assets were distributed to his heirs according to intestate law. Since his mother had already passed away, his father inherited his entire estate.
Burial
