Before his tenure as Bond, Moore had already made a name for himself on television with notable roles in Ivanhoe, Maverick, The Saint, and The Persuaders!

Moore’s career extended beyond Bond, evolving into roles in films such as The Cannonball Run, where he starred alongside Burt Reynolds. Moore’s contribution to the film industry was recognized when he received the Monte Carlo TV Festival Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. Moore passed away on May 23, 2017, in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. He was 89 years old at the time of his death. The cause of death was lung and liver cancer, a battle he fought surrounded by his family. It was a “short but brave battle with cancer” said his children. Moore’s final resting place is Monaco Cemetery.
