Christina Sandera was an American restaurant manager best known for her decade-long relationship with acclaimed actor and filmmaker Clint Eastwood—the age difference of 33 years posed no obstacle to their love.
She also served as a board member of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, where she was the chief developer for a equestrian center in Carmel Valley. The organization shared a statement on Instagram: “Christina’s passing was sudden and unexpected, and while details are still unclear, we find some solace knowing she was doing what she loved—riding her horses—surrounded by her beloved animals, and close to home with her partner of 10 years, Clint Eastwood.”
They met in 2014
Sandera and Eastwood had been dating since 2014 following Eastwood’s divorce from his second wife, TV news anchor Dina Eastwood. Eastwood had also previously married model Maggie Johnson from 1953 to 1984.
The two reportedly began dating after meeting at Mission Ranch, Eastwood’s restaurant in Carmel, California, where Sandera worked. She has largely stayed out of the public eye, preferring a private life, though she occasionally accompanied Eastwood to high-profile events.
“Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much,” Eastwood said after her death.
Cause of death
Sadly, Sandera died on July 18, 2024, at 61, of a heart attack, as confirmed by a representative from the Monterey County Health Department to the New The Post.
The death certificate listed her immediate cause of death as cardiac arrhythmia, an abnormality in the timing or pattern of the heartbeat. Atherosclerotic coronary artery disease was also cited as a contributing condition that led to her passing.
