Thomas Rasada: Cause of Death, Funeral, and Burial
Thomas Rasada was born on 31 January 1961 in Culver City, California, USA, and has been called a wizard in the fields of special effects and visual effects.
He is known for Volcano (1997), The Day After Tomorrow (2004), Death Race (2008), and Total Recall (2012).
He has been married to Joyce Ann since 2 February 1985. They have four children.
He also worked on the special effects on the comedy show Henry Danger and is responsible for many of the incredible special effects you see on the show. It was a hard blow for the show in every way losing Rasada, he was beloved by all on set.
Cooper Barnes, aka Captain Man on Henry Danger, released a video on YouTube in a bid to boost the fundraiser set up by Rasada’s family. In the video, the crew and cast expresses their love for Rasada. Ella Anderson, who plays Piper Hart, says “He is an amazing person and has made our lives richer just by knowing him. And if you watch Henry Danger, and is a fan, whether you realize it or not, he has made your lives richer too.”
The show suffered another tragic passing the very same week when actor and stuntman A.J. Dunn passed away.
How did Thomas Rasada die?
Thomas Rasada fought for his life battling stage 4 cancer. It was also a financial battle leading the Rasada family to open a fundraiser.
In March 2019, the family learned that cancer invading Rasada’s body was growing.
They tested everything from radiation to a more holistic approach including detoxing, and herbal supplements.
The family even went so far as to test an alternative regimen from the natural realm, costing $1,000 a month out of pocket since not covered by insurance.
But to no avail. On 24 October 2019, the status update on the fundraiser page by Pamela Rasada read:
“It is with a heart heavy with love and grief that I announce our beloved Thomas John Rasada; Devoted Catholic, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all he met, left the set for the last time at 10:02 a.m., on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, surrounded by his loving wife, cherished children, and devoted sister.”
Funeral and Burial
The funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Post Falls, Idaho. The burial took place just up the street at Evergreen Cemetery.
